This was my second foray into game design, back when I was a sophomore at UC Santa Cruz in 2012. I was one of the lead developers for the game in our team of four. This was also my first time programming with C#, which as it turns out was the best skill I learned during my time as a game design major because I would be taking this knowledge with me to use Unity3D for virtual reality a few years down the road.
Out of a class of 20 teams we were selected as a finalist for the Sammy Awards, UCSC’s annual game design award show. We had an extra quarter before the show, so I delved back in and changed it from a single player to a 4-player game when I had time off from my other classes.
And wouldn’t you know it, we won the best game in class and got the Game Design Experience Award! This game continues to motivate me to make experiences that are not only rewarding but also fun!
Check out our original website for more info. Unfortunately the game is no longer available for download because I would love for more people to enjoy one of my favorite creations.
